Above is the final sculpture from my Sculpture class at UTA. It is currently being e

xhibited at Strands Salon in Weatherford, Tx.

The process of making “The Deep” is a process of evolution and discovery. What was supposed to be an experiment became the finished product.   Originally, work started on the floor. The goal was to create beautiful folds in the fabric. Each stage of brought with it ideas to move to the next step. Working from an internal picture of water and its movement, the sculpture was painted blue. Running out of one shade of blue, other shades were considered and so the gradation was formed. As I finished the memory of light and water came to mind; so the vertical composition of “The Deep” was born.
